Once upon a time...
It started like this: Young Alfonso, now singer and guitar player of The NeverEvers, was booked to spin records in Obererlinsbach. Among the very impressed locals was Renato, himself a record afficinadio. He just had to talk to this DJ, as it actually never ever happens that DJ’s have this great stuff in their bags. It was love at first sight and they decided to start a band.
The news got around and everybody wanted to join their band, but Alfonso and Renato wanted band members that fit from head to toe and for 4 years it was only the twosome. So almost every weekend Alfonso took the train to Obererlinsbach or Renato packed his guitar and drove with his Sachs-3-gear-motorbike to visit Alfonso in Zürich. They played records to each other, self-teached them some hot guitar licks or were just holding hands and dreaming about their band. Of course, in all the years many lads begged to get the drum or bass job, but they just wouldn’t fit the high standards in playing, looks and bad behaviour Renato and Alfonso were looking for.
In the meantime they had found a rehearsal room at the old people’s home in Zürich’s Lochergut. There was this guy El Miguel who went to visit his grandma there everyday. He always passed by the rehearsal room, and when he heard some strange sound coming through the door he stopped, listened and started waving around with his arms and dancing like crazy. One day someone told Alfonso and Renato about the mad guy in front of their door and they passed him up. Well, a perfect drummer in the person of El Miguel was found. And even more: El Miguel has a brother (although they don’t have the same mother or same father... a long story about a father outing himself gay, so the mother quit and married another man, died of drug abuse and her husband finding another wife and having another baby with this woman...) who played bass with his art-school mates which couldn't reach his awesome looking style: Alessandro. Suddenly the dream came true, and The NeverEvers were complete. And so they go to conquer dancehalls all around the world, starting in Bünzenberg and ending one day at the Star-Club in Hamburg. So make sure your club is a station on the highway to glory!
